The release of Sage 50 Accounts 2012 sees the UK’s market leading program take a leap into mobile accounting with an accompanying smartphone app that lets users view and enter data from iPhones and BlackBerry devices.
As is usual with each annual update for the program, Sage 50 product managers emphasised that most of the enhancements in the new version were driven by customer demand and market research. This principle extends to the mobile app, according to Geoff Philips, product manager for Sage connected services.
“What you see the in app today is based on what customers have asked for. Around 30-40% of customers tell us they want to access data remotely via devices. It will also help with users we don’t reach yet: business managers who don’t use desktop accounts, or who rely on others with special expertise, or business that wouldn’t otherwise consider desktop software.”
